The steaks are very good and cooked over an open pit. I'd say it's a notch above the casual steak chains and a notch below the "expense account" chains, but priced accordingly. The food was very good and the service is competent from an obviously well trained staff.
The atmosphere is "western casual" and it's pretty noisy but you can still hear the conversation at your own table. On Saturday night is might feel like there are too many tourists, but hey, we were and had a great time. Forgot how good this place was, date night with my wife of 45 years. The steakhouse couldn't manage to cook a ribeye to the proper doneness or with any real flavor. First rare steak was almost medium. We love H3 and go quite often but the young ladies at the hostess desk are the rudest, hateful bunch of girls we have ever encountered, absolutely no manners or people skills at all!!!! Actually, I was just what I expected. Nice, Friendly and wonderful food. The employees were extremely nice and attentive. Wish it was a little less noisy but we will still come back, we come in each time we are in the Stockyards! Our parents came to Texas for the very first time over Mothers Day weekend.

The food was good overall but the gravy had way too much salt in it. I received an email saying We did not show up for our reservation Saturday at 7. We were ther and checked in and was seated 10 minutes early. You can check your credit card receipts and find a charge for Lanny Taylor. I have always kept all of my Open Table reservations or I call ahead and cancel or cancel on line. I would appreciate the staff at H3 keeping an accurate record when people keep their appointments so I don't get a black mark against ME for the restaurants mistake.
Great food and atmosphere. Best to book as gets very busy. Ribeye was just ok not really med-rare. H3 is one of my favs in the Stockyards! Book a room at the Stockyards hotel, enjoy an awesome meal! The bar is always hopping and the service is impeccable! We had cocktails in the bar which gave me the opportunity to check on the table and let the hostess know we were there and would be returning in a couple of minutes.
They didn't set the tables together until I came back with the group where we then had to wait several minutes for them to orchestrate putting together tables for the 12 of us. Food good but not great. Great appetizers; chicken thighs, burnt ends, guac. Ribeye; chewy and tough; tenderloin very good. Love the atmosphere and casual Cowtown feel!

Service was a little slow and steaks were overcooked on this occasion but are usually perfect. It's our go-to for dinner and breakfast every time we are in the Stockyards. Weekend trip to Ft Worth. We enjoy eating in Fort Worth around the Stock Yards due to friendliness, food, historical area H3 had all of this. The steak was great sirloin and service was very good.

Good food and very good service. Had a great late lunch. Our server was first rate. Food was very good and erving size was ample for the price. Draft beer was wonderful. Fun ambiance, great food, great service. Always good for a date or going out with family and friends. The food was good, a little pricey in my opinion for the main meals. It was New Years Eve The place was a bit chilly inside. Server did a good job of pacing the meal so we were turning the table, but not feeling rushed. The alcohol is priced high We enjoyed the Salmon and Shrimp I'd visit again with a reservation.
The food is out of this world. I will say it was busy, which I assume is typical for this place, but we saw our waitress probably 3 times total. Like I said, it was busy and I have worked in the food industry so I am usually pretty understanding but in all honesty the lack of service ruined our experience.

The steaks where very tender and seasoned just right. The skillet and ranch fries where lacking. We had dinner at H3. It was a popular night, after Ritchie Bros auction.
The service was alright, ver polite and tolerant. The steaks were well prepared, but the ribs sorta sucked. We also had an appetizer with tacos that was worth the price of admission.
